Every battle causes the observation post destroyed popup to happen
I've submitted a bug report but wondering if anyone has the same issue and what I can do to fix it?

I'm getting that too; however, I'm seeing no residual effects. I would do what you've done already--let the dev team know and hope they fix it soon.

They got back to me, apparently it's been fixed in the dev branch so we just have to wait for the next hot fix and it'll go away.
