Cannot Colonise Demon Class with Tholians
I'm playing as the Ferengi, have an immigration agreement with the tholians. Can build Tholian colony ships, the planets are green, but I cannot colonise them.

Sadness.

You need the proper tech... Not sure if it is available as a rare tech in the terraforming line or not, but I've never seen it outside of the Tholians, who start with the ability...

This has been noticed by a lot of people for a long time. There does not appear to be a way to colonize Demon Planets if you are a non-silicon empire, even if you have colonists on an immigration treaty who are. It gets a little annoying with the green planets sitting forever on the map, unable to be colonized. The game is **supposed** to eventually offer a technology to either terraform the planet or colonize it with carbon-based life forms, but I have never seen this happen across dozens of games.

Must be extremely rare, or extremely late game, as I have never seen it personally...

I can confirm with the new Science station, once the Tholians are part of the Fed, you get the option at the science station to research the rare tech. Then once you research it, you are free to colonize these planets. I am currently in a Fed game and the tholians just joined up with me. Once they did, the rare tech was there.

I've never managed to get the Tholians to join... They either end up wiped out by the Cardassians, or I just end up not getting that far into the game to have them join...

I think that is the only way to get the tech. Not confirmed, but I believe once you get them, that is the special tech from them(like the vulcan Kin Kin Cruisers and such).

You cannot, because its RACE locked as everything else in this mod, and if you don't get Tholians in to Federation (some sort of main protagonist), then forget about this tech.

Example: You chose Eugenics tradition + allow Eugenics policy, and also get ultra rare/red gene modification technology, but you still CAN'T use it, becouse you are not Dominoin or Sulibans.

I love and hate this this mod. Love because its interesting, and hate because almost everytning is race locked.
