I had this issue before. What I found out was that I was playing on a save with mods that were enabled previously except this time I did not enable those mods. Normally you are not able to load up such saves without enabling those mods unless you're playing/testing in Dev tools--which I was. However I know there's the "Ignore Content" mod on the workshop so if you are using that mod and disabled some mods from before then that might be the reason they're loading up black. I'll look into this when I get the chance.
EDIT:
Just had the same issue with Capnbub's accessories mod. Unsubscribing and resubscribing to the mod fixed the issue. Try doing the same thing for this mod.
I've tried un/re-subing to no avail.

Have you tried pressing the refresh/reset button in your mod manager? http://i.imgur.com/egVM8Ik.png
Pressing this button and then re-enabling all the mods I have tends to fix this issue.
Tried this as well, and its stills showing up blacked out. I'm at no means a modding expert but would adjusting the ini file to increase the base damage and adding more upgrade slots some how cause the textures to stop appearing? It is also at the end of my load order now.
EDIT: Have you disabled any mods during your campaign?
EDIT: Patch pushed. Should be fixed.
Patched. However the fix won't apply to your current campaign. Any future campaigns you start will have the fix though.
