For the sake of realism all parts of the outfit change between each soldier as you can see in the screenshots, except for greaves and the swords which are all the same. The look is supposedly that of heavy and veteran germanic infantry (formerly) enlisted in the WRE ranks.

• The helmets are mostly roman, except for the wolf pelt headgear, specifically western ones from both cavalry and infantry units. I chose them because they were extremely popular among germanic tribes bordering with the WRE. Even the Lombards in the 8th century used helmets similar to the cavalry type (ponytail-like crest)
  
  
• the chest and body armour changes betwen 3 sets, all of which germano-roman: lamellar, mail, scale.
  
  
• the shields swap between late roman oval shields and germanic round ones
  
  
• the cloaks are of two types and change between a wolf mantle and a short plain cloak
