Bugs
I'm not sure if there is a dedicated thread for this some where, but I feel like it should be mentioned or made rather.

Currently known bugs I hae encountered.

The hacking computer stalls/stops completely if there is an incomplete block on the grid of what a player is trying to hack. I havne't been able to rule out if this is all blocks like building blocks, or if it's blocks that have computer components in them.

The Hacking computer has yet to be able o take control of all the programable blocks on a grid out of 9 ships I hacked none of them had the programmable block(s) completely captured.

Hacking computer also seems to have varying degrees of success with antennas.

If you are hacking pirate ships and cargo ships, those ships will turn on and off their antennas and programming blocks. The hacking blocks won't hack blocks which are turned off, they have to be hacked manually. This is a balance choice that I decided on, and it makes sense since after all, how can you get hacked if you unplug your computer ;)

As far as incomplete blocks stopping hacking, I've heard 1 other person report. I have yet been able to reproduce the problem.

I've experienced a couple of times, but I wasn't aware of the AI's being able to turn their computers and antenna off, good idea, didn't know that was a feature then :P

Since I can't look in the code or anything, not that I really want to, I'll do a little test world, and see if it was just a one time fluke, or if it's something else. I'll post some feed back if I can replicate the problem more than a couple times.

tallah u did not say if u are using mods. mods can have a play in this a mod that changes the pirate ships or cargo ship and adds moded items to them if u do let him know it would help him see what may be doing it.

No mods beyond Hacking block.

when you hack a turret it keeps shooting until you turn it on and off

Oh, so the guns staying online and red may have been a bug in the game? I'm going to have to spend some time playing with this to get the hang of it.

Do you have to man the hack block or is it automatic?

Makes perfect sense. I like this design choice!

is there any crashes associated with his because i keep crashing after i hack argents then try to move them it seems to crash me every time

If you crash, before you restart the game, go to C:\Users\<YouUserName>\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers and open SpaceEngineers.log

The AppData folder is hidden, you can also type in "%appdata%/SpaceEngineers" into your windows explorer to get to the correct folder.

After you open it, do ctrl + a to select all and copy the contents. Paste it onto a site like http://pastebin.com/ and submit and post the link here.

Seems like your mod broke with the advent of planets, the blocks aren't doing anything for me. Yes the blocks I want to hack are on, yes the hacking blocks are set to be owned by me, yes the targeted blocks are in a different faction (might have something to do with the NPC faction being hacked is considered "dead"?)

The faction you're trying to hack being listed as dead may be the problem, but I was able to hack everything else just fine, I didn't try the first colonist base for very long though.

@Persona N, did you join the First Colony faction? If so, the hacking block won't hack your allies' blocks. Try leaving the first colony faction.

I added 70+ hacking stations to EarthEasyStart station in creative mode, changed their ownership to me and nothing got "hacked" automatically after letting them run for 1+ hr... no idea why.

You are part of the First Colonist faction. To leave the faction, go to the k-menu, look for the faction tab at the top, select it and find the First Colonist faction and click "Leave Faction". Should work now.

It does this because all the EasyStart stations are in a faction that is sharing stuff with you, so the computer won't hack it because it's technically an ally's station

Great modification.
I noticed an error was probably caused by the modification.
When connected to a computer hacking acquired the ship (after the acquisition) when grinding turrets game is closed. This does not happen always, but always stakach that I started using a computer hacking and wants to change the turret (you have to ask them damage for instance small arms and only then can grind).

It turned out the way of the investigation, that the problems I have described will modify the Moon Prism - Shield mod
