Impossible to run away?
Hey guys, loving the mod so far, seems to be exactly what I've been looking for! Bonus points for all the amazing customization possible.
I've been trying to make a few missions with it for my regular group, however, in all my tests so far, it seems to be impossible to lose zombies after aggroing (even the slow ones will eventually find you even if you're out of view and hundreds of meters away). This makes it very hard to make missions where you can retreat and stealth around, having some breathing room for reviving/healing teammates.

Also, I've read in the forums that there was a game logic for spotting distance. However, can't seem to find that anymore. Is there still a way to change that?

The game logic for detection distance is still there.

The fact that zombies will chase you for a long time has been an issue that I've seen before but no-one posted it on the feedback tracker so it got overlooked :P I'll see what we can do...

Just found out about the variable "Ryanzombieslimit" that Ryan mentioned in the comments. Changing both that and spawner activation radius to about 50 meters gave me sort of a walkaround for my intended effect (they still don't care about line of sight, but give up much more easily). Unfortunately this also seems to make them ignore you shooting them or anything else that happens past that limit.

While new walker type zombies works just perfect (damn, a little more slower and they will be better than A2 DayZ zeds), this "once seen, cannot forget" issue strikes with new force. I tried to run away from them literally around the hill in 500m from them, then proned and picked their movement. Sadly, they just raytracing me like with wallhack eagle vision.

They can see you through walls tho, be carefull...

All the zombies still have this issue. The walker zombies will track you till you are in a safe zone and still keep coming. I honestly don't know if there is a distance they stop at. I had a walker track kula to the man made train bridge. I sat up on that out crop of rocks so I could see how far they would come. And when I shot at him zombies from the other side of the hill started coming.
Gun shots travel but after a certain distance the direction becomes next to impossible to tell in RL. Apparently no object not even hills or rocks prevents them from tracking.
Then the sound. Well he a zombie can be a km away and sounds just like he is next to you.
I just wish there was a time frame on this getting fixed.
