THISSSS i have this problem to. can you try launching it again but before you do open task manager and see in processes if steam error reporter shows up

I am having similiar issues. I am thinking it has something to do with the Screen Resolution, which I am unable to change without getting into the game.

i dont think it does. i was able to play the mod for like 3 hours . . . then i stopped to try the vanilla game. and when i came out this problem occured

Yeah. Its not opening up for me aswell via the launcher. I get absolutely nothing when the launcher closes to start the mod. : (

so its not limited to JUST the complex mod. it also did this to the fleet commander mod and the complex 8. whatever mod

this must be a homeworld classic issue

Screen Resolution was the issue for me. It seems to be a homeworld classic issue that gearbox overlooked. It might effect other mods aswell and the classic if its not opening up for people. I had to look up the custom screen resolution run commands for the classic version.

You can try running one these below, all of them should work I think.

-800 800x600 Resolution
-640 640x480 Resolution
-1024 1024x768 Resolution
-1280 1280x1024 Resolution It is really 1280 x 980, if you want 1280x1024 (LCD) go to -w 1280 -h 1024
-1600 1600x1200 Resolution



Sadly though the launcher doesnt save the commandline. Nikolas link is a better solution and uses shortcuts..

well i tried to do the shortcut thing but something ia apparently wrong as only the vanilla game will go up not the mod

Same, I added the updated short cut and the vanilla game is opening in the new resolution, but without complex loading. Help?

i attempted another traget line to link directly to the mod . . . didnt work

It seems that the command line arguments in the launcher do not work.

In the below file you can edit your resolution.

In theory you could create a shortcut to do this also, however I can't seem to get it to load the complex mod and it will only load vanila hw2, even with:

right now im on the complex forums talking with oni the lead artist we are trying to see whats causing it.

one thing that might be hepful is finding you HW2.log file which you can find under the homeworld/homeworld2classic/bin/release folder keep in mind to get good results you need to load up the mod have it fail THEN view the log file to see what we have to work with
