Support for Tribal to Republic conversion
I've made a submod for Popes and Doges 2 that adds an ability to Found Merchant Republic as Tribal just as in CK2 with Novgorod in mind.

* Tribal holding conversion with site selection for holdings that respects cultural traditions.
* Vassal setup including noble houses and governments.
* Adjusted Iberian legacies so they can be selected with matching cultural traditions with focus on cities or house (coterie) without a capital in Iberia. Yes, you can always do Mallorca gambit, but it's silly. Metropolitan is a must have as republican vassals have much lower default taxes than in administrative empire now with introduction of treasury.
* A regional version of collective lands tradition with additional effects for republics for east slavic heritage (RICE-beta compatible).

Would you be interested in integrating this in main mod or do you prefer if I publish it separately?

EDIT: TC_convert_to_feudalism.txt is unnecessary and should be removed. I was going to improve feudal conversion too but didn't finish the work.

Looking through the mod it looks like it needs a bit of work on localisation. I noticed now that Novgorod Republic and Visby Republic both exist on the last bookmark and lack the patrician families especially Novgorod.

I haven't really touched bookmarks other than 867. I will see if I can add some history data for 1066 and 1178 start dates.

There's publicly available info on the Novgorod Posadniks but it is going to be a lot of work, there is just one dude made so far, the guy who was Posadnik in the last bookmark date.

I can't find anything on the Republic of Visby at all.
