Mod seems to interfere with forming admin realms. Took in-game decision as a bureaucratic culture to form admin kingdom, but it didn't quit work out. Game claims my realm was admin, but flag and laws remained feudal, no admin options for military, and vassals remained under feudal contracts. Didn't push the save beyond to Empire to see if treasury worked. Removed your mod, and then admin decision worked as previously expected.

Yes. It's a large one that touches a lot of different areas, so there are lots of great mods that end up not being compatible with it.

Just a heads up to everyone curious, it's looking like the mod is clashing with the current version of Dark Ages. Whenever the Pope dies, the Papacy title is destroyed and he is replaced with a King-Bishop

I researched the issue and all players need to have the exact same checksum, which means same game version and mods.

No, it just won't work in multiplayer. As in no one can join the multiplayer game.

Regarding Golden Dominion, I haven't tried it, I think they are taking a different approach from me so I'm not sure it would work.

I'm pushing up v2.09 that fixes the issue with the Jin Dynasty in the last bookmark and tries to prevent the wrong appointments.

I made this mod at release of Crane (18.0) and there were some bugs from that release that ended up in this mod that messed those up.

I found the problem the history files for this had gotten messed up, I will fix. There were also some paradox bugfixes I need to port over as well where some governments that were supposed to be no be nomadic weren't like pechenegs and magyars.

I launched the game with only your mod enabled – these countries are literally fragmented at the start of a new game, on the character selection screen.

Oh one thing this mod DOES change the map, so you have to start a new save you can't run it from an existing save or things will go wrong.

I haven't really touched the khanate mechanics, it's remotely possible that something in the mod broke those but they're also kind of buggy in the base game

Oh, and with this mod, several countries change their colors, and both Great Liao and Jin get destroyed – looks like something got broken. :bad_beauty:

Oh, and removing the treasury mechanic is a good idea too – in republics, the ruler’s and the state’s treasuries feel more intertwined than in bureaucracies.

I like your idea of simply adding noble houses for duchy-level republics – it doesn’t overload gameplay with questionable mechanics and at least makes them minimally viable.:ambition:

I've updated the mod to 2.05:
I've removed treasury from republics as vassal republics were screwed up by it, and I've made it so you can land your court chaplain and create a theocracy, so it's easy to create theocracies. I have also fixed an issue where theocracies could not grant titles and fixed a few bugs with succession influence.

The mod does make some changes to the map and landed titles, so existing saves will probably have some strange issues

Tried this out on existing save, Nestorian Patriarch had no successors (neither does the Pope), and when he died, nobody else was appointed in his stead. It looks like he is still ruling from the grave.

Looks like republics are working well though.

A very interesting mod!

I think there is a problem with treasury setup you use. If you are a republic with a treasury you get treasure income from development that is amount you pay to your liege adjusted by monthly_treasury_from_liege_mult. Administrative lieges have expenses for vassal development, but if your liege doesn't have treasury then there are no treasury expenses and vassal development money seem to get printed out of thin air.

So it seems it's best to leave republics without treasuries as they seem to only function correctly if entire chain has treasuries too.

I'm working on fixing some bugs I added and working on getting all the Patrician estates where they are supposed to be in all three of the bookmarks.
