What about complete engine swaps? Each vehicle could have a maximum engine capacity and each engine, a numeric size value. In order to swap an engine, it would have to be pulled with an engine dolly, and then optionally, transferred to an engine stand, torn down, rebuilt and installed. Just bringing it up since the mod already has transmission swaps and this seems a logical step.
newPart.name = getText("IGUI_EnginePanel_PartType_TransmissionFluid");
newPart.tag = "EngineTransmission"
newPart.isFluid = true;
newPart.info = "Without this your transmission will be able to transmit power to the wheels."
newPart.skill = 0
table.insert(currentCat.parts, newPart);
Please add the descriptive text to the translation file.
With the new addition of more dash menu's I find this is needed more than ever. Having to cycle through all the dashes every time I load the game (can be multiple times a day due to B42 jank) is frustrating. Even though I enjoy the mod.
It was THE mod that I was most eager to see arrive.
However, I have two small requests.
I am a controller player and forcing the addition of a slice in the radial menu to simply change a HUD is not very pleasant. Having an option in the mods options tab to activate or not this slice or even choose the desired HUD would be great! In the rush with a joystick, the extra slice reduces the size of the other...
And this would allow saving the desired HUD for future games (no more reset at each game launch).
And secondly when we are on the engine page and we want to go back, it is necessary to close the page, close the hood and reopen it.
A simple step back would be tip top!
I love Project Summer Car! I am trying to create a Korean translation, but I found a critical issue that prevents translation of four fluid descriptions.
The long descriptions are currently hardcoded inside the Engine_Menu.lua file. This means they cannot be translated using standard language files.
The following four lines need to be changed to use the getText() function, referencing a unique translation key:
Hardcoded Lines in Engine_Menu.lua
CURRENT HARDCODED LINES:
newPart.info = "Without this your transmission will be able to transmit power to the wheels."
newPart.info = "Power steering fluid is needed for your power steering pump to work"
newPart.info = "Oil is the live blood of your engine. Make sure to check it regularly and change when it gets too dirty. Don't let this get too low or you'll blow the engine"
newPart.info = "Engine coolant (Usally water and antifreeze) is required to keep your engine cool."
REQUESTED FIX:
Please replace these four lines by adding the corresponding getText("New_Key") function:
newPart.info = getText("Tooltip_TransmissionFluidInfo")
newPart.info = getText("Tooltip_PowerSteeringInfo")
newPart.info = getText("Tooltip_EngineOilLongDesc")
newPart.info = getText("Tooltip_EngineCoolantInfo")
This simple fix will make these descriptions fully translatable for all languages.
Thank you for your quick review!
- A way to remove some contamination from used oil (metal shaving ETC) - like using coffee filters.
-
- Contaminated parts/engines - put new oil, and it almost instantly become contaminated because it disolve goo that was left in engine
- Cooking oil as cheap and emergency oil substitute
[/quote]
On the filtering oil part, I unironically did research for something else and found that while its possible to filter oil using coffee filters its better done using a machine called a centifuge. HOWEVER... Engine oil isnt just the oil. It includes additives to allow the engine to run smoothly. So while it IS possible it would destroy your engine sooner rather than later. Cooking Oil would ruin the engine because they just arent the same. And contaminated oil instantly just isnt a thing. If it is you have something terribly wrong with your engine. Engine oil typically lasts (from memory) about 3000 miles and or 3 months nowadays. I cant say anything about the other things as im just a Auto-Tech student but i wont shut them down
aumentar a vida útil de filtros de óleo, ou adicionar spawn do mesmo em maior numero pelo mapa.
