Team Fortress 2 Bots [2025]

BOTS NOT MOVING!?
This bug just started up a few days ago. Whenever I spawn in TF2 bots on any map, they just stand there. You can kill them; sometimes they will try to kill you, but they don't walk around at all (expect the Medic.) Is there some way to fix this without disabling or deleting any addons?

do you have nerotech?

This may be due to your map not having a nav mesh. The creator can confirm this, but I would think that the bots use nextbot AI to move around, which requires a nav mesh to be created. I don't know if this will work, but it might. You can either manually create one (Look up a tutorial), or, with sv_cheats convar set to 1, nav_generate. This will generate a nav mesh (Navigation Mesh) telling the nextbot AIs where to move to. This may not work, mind you, just my guess.

yeah snpc and stuff like that need a proper navigation in order to work like these bots do move on any map only if enemy is near and they just go forward but on a navigated mp there epic

Attention: There is an easy solution to this issue.

Step 1: Enter your game, whether it is a listen or single-player server
Step 2: If it isn't already, enable your console. This is done through your options screen.
Step 3: Enable sv_cheats in console (sv_cheats 1)
Step 4: Enable nav_edit (nav_edit 1)
Step 5: Use the console command nav_analyze, and wait for the map to reset.
Step 6: Use the command nav_generate.*
*At this point, if it worked, you're done! If not, keep reading.
If it didn't work, you likely got a message in response regarding walkable seeds. The fix to this is the command "nav_mark_walkable"
Afterwords, just reuse nav_generate, and that should allow movement.
Let me know if this fixes the problem for you.

I tried nav_generate, but nothing happened, plus it made the whole game lag for 3 minutes so I had to get off.

Did you use the nav_analyze command first? nav_analyze samples the map to designate the base outline of the navigation mesh. Once you use the nav_analyze command, the map will restart. At this point, just in case, make sure that your nav_edit is still active. (nav_edit 1) None of the commands will work properly without your sv_cheats set to 1, along with your nav_edit. After making sure that both are still active, then use nav_generate. If it doesn't work, copy your console log beginning at the point that you first enabled sv_cheats.

Changing them to friendly will not change anything with the exception of giving Engie the ability to move. Hostile has them move entirely.

Is it only the tank? If so, post the full message you get in your console after spawning it.

The Tank only moves when it sees another tf2 bot (not a mvm robot) then the tank will go near the bot, then deploy a bomb to kill the bot and thats how it attacks (thats only how it moves)

Oh! It's just the tank then? Don't worry, it's actually supposed to behave that way! The tank in this pack is not set up as an "objective" based enemy, meaning that it only attacks, rather than trying to deliver the bomb to a site. As such, the tank will not move regardless of whether there is a NAV mesh, simply because it doesn't have a target.

Definitally a navmesh thing I'd assume. Works on some maps but not others for me.

I think it is beacuse of neurotech, bots worked fine for me before i downloaded neurotech.
