How to Prevent Game & Mod Updates Mid-Campaign (Using Shazbot’s Mod Manager)
This method lets you freeze your mod setup so neither the game nor workshop mods update during your playthrough.

You’ll be using local copies of the mods, so you must test your load order beforehand and manually update mods later.

First: Download this:
https://github.com/Shazbot/WH3-Mod-Manager/releases

Drop where you want.

Then: Go to steam, right click warhammer 3, set updates to "update only when game is started"

Start the mod manager. Activate the mods you want to use. Make sure your game works with the mod list.

Then make sure that you have enough space on your ssd for your mods AGAIN (like 10 - 15 gb I would suggest). Go to your \steamapps\common\Total War WARHAMMER III\data folder.

Create a folder. For example I knew the patch will come today; so I named it 31.8.23PreTzeentchPatch

Go back to your Mod manager. On the right side, click "other options"
-> Under Content Mods vs Data Mods, click "copy to data"

Wait a moment. The mods will turn RED in your mod manager list. that's perfectly fine (for now), the mods will be copied to your data folder and WON'T update. So they will work with the actual patch (the version BEFORE tzeentch dlc in my example) but ONLY when you don't start the game via steam!!!!!! That's mandatory! You HAVE to start the game via the mod manager!!!!

To keep things save, I like to copy the added files in the data folder to the just created folder. I sort the folder to "create date" so I'm able to easily select every file copied to the data folder via looking at the watch. So for example, when you pressed the "copy to data" button at the date 31. September 11:22PM, all files will have the date with this time.

So I'm able to delete them easily but keep them when the patch isn't ready (you're able to backroll)
