yari unit don't have weapon
when yari unit spawn at battle map， they don't set any weapon

Btw, what the point of having to use any melee units instead I used matchlock rifle on ground and on horsebacks

Ranged units suck in siege attacks, and even if you manage to win a siege assault with them, you'll take huge losses.

Theoretically you also need melee units to keep other melee units and cavalry off of your guns, but with enough late-game buffs you can get around that in field battles.
