With the release of the Megalopolis update, you can also now suggest new megacities, and I will most likely implement them. Rules are the states and regions you've selected must stretch more than one state and have at least one urban tile.

Maybe with the new monuments feature in the base game you can put little models of famous spots in cities like the big Reno arch sign in Reno, or maybe in the Boneyard you can put up a hollywood sign, stuff like that.

That would be really cool and I would personally like to do that. If I knew how to. :steamhappy:
Tbh, the ability to turn literally any non-impassable tile into a megacity is a bit weird, so, uh... would it be possible to only do the places that are somewhat advanced in the beginning to be able to become cities? Maybe through a game rule making the outpost-settlement-walled settlement decisions not show?

(also, have you talked with Zam138 about working together on mods? you and he released a few days apart from each other a pair of some very similar mods that both do the same thing (upgrading state categories) but in different ways, but his was a compability patch from a mod for vanilla, while yours is made from the ground up)

Well, no, you can upgrade most states into old world cities, if you start with an outpost it needs enough population. You can only turn restored megacities into pre-war megacities. I also have not talked with Zam138 but I'll check him out.

Compatibility with the east coast mod now that its updated so you can restore DC or the Pitt as a megacity perhaps?

Probably not since I don't play with submods which add in extra parts of the map. I made this mod mostly because I wanted to play with this feature. Sorry.

I have made a mod for this it is called land development, but if you are hoping to use it in vanilla, or a vanilla like mod, Kaiserreich, redux, whatever, I suggest you use better state categories instead because I'm busy with other projects and it seems my version doesn't work for those mods.

It works, but it doesn't change the appearance of the region. The functionality is excellent, but I'd like a visual representation of it.. In the end, the game is about how you change the map of the world...

Well, you can't actually alter province types after game start, so if you want provinces to change to Urban, sorry, literally impossible
