[B42] Week One NPC

Request optimisation: FPS is so bad, it's worse than a slide show.
I have a pretty good PC, 64gb ram, 4700 ti and overclocked cpu at constant 5ghz, yet when I run this mod, my FPS goes down to 0.

Driving through Louisville on the first day (i.e. little to no zombies) it's worse than a slide show. The game pauses for over a second, every other second. It's unplayable. Turn this mod off - back to 20+ fps.

Doesn't matter if I make the 3d objects 'flat' or if I zoom all the way into my character/car.

I can get a moments respite by 'DBG: REMOVE ALL BANDITS' but that lasts only a few seconds before were back to slide show.

I know the devs of the game are at fault for making a game using fking JAVA (ffs... idiots) and not an optimal language like C++, but this mod, whilst adding so much to the core game, has become untenable with it's performance making the game literally unplayable. Add to that the constant crashes to desktop when the 'pausing' caused by 0 fps stays too long and the next mouse click causes the game to crash.

This needs to be addressed... maybe a way to scale down the 'bandit ai' based on radius from player that can be tweaked in the settings, or something else... but it's unplayable right now.

I can upload a video to youtube if it's worth it but imagine driving and the game pausing every few seconds, for a few seconds, then resuming for maybe 2 seconds, then pausing for 4 then resuming for 1. then pausing for 5... it's just unplayable.

Different factors contribute to lag. In short do this: remove npc driven vehicles and reduce npc population to 0.6 or less in sandbox settings. Then don't go to LV and avoid driving cars very fast in big cities

Not a rebuttal, I'm 90% sure this is something to do with your setup. I play this game with this mod and a bunch of others on an outdated Dell tower case with 4GB RAM and a 4-core Intel CPU and it works.
@VoterFraudMan I second this; I regularly run this mod on 8GB RAM laptops with minimal (if any) issues.
@VoterFraudMan @anonymousalien602. I've completely uninstalled and reinstalled PZ, even onto a different SSD - this issue follows regardless, so I fail to see how it's my 'setup'.... unless you have some other suggestions for me to check?
@TEMPEST I am not a systems wizard, I have no idea what the problem could be. Based off the fact that my game seems to be performing better than yours despite running on inferior hardware, it's probably some kind of config issue. PZ is not Solitaire-light but it isn't particularly high-demand either, and while Week One definitely ups the demand on my machine, it's still functioning almost perfectly on top of all my other mods. Granted, I do have a somewhat higher tolerance for bugs than many other gamers, I have to close all other apps, and my setup is what I would call "operational" or "functional" but definitely not "perfect".

I used to have a Framework laptop with an Intel i5 12th gen CPU and 32GB ram on a NVMe SSD and this game was still buggy under the right circumstances. Certainly not GMod level buggy, but it's just how the game is, it's rough around the edges and needs some finagling on the user's part to play nicer.

For clarity's sake when I said "not a rebuttal" I meant I wasn't rebuking you, not saying "not an argument" to you.
