Doesn't also help that the NPCs are prone to causing fires... Via stoves and grills. And those 99% of the time cause fires that just spread infinitely. Sorta like the fire in the CDDA challenge that spreads non-stop and only stops if you unload the chunks that have fire.
Early days, IIRC, has spread disabled. The mod gradually ups the settings, only to go with what the player HAD at the sandbox settings screen before starting the game.
Think this
Preset1 is used by the mod, from Preset1 to Preset7, from Day 1 to Day 7
Day 8 is when it uses the PlayerPreset.
I believe around day 4 or 5 is when fire spread is enabled... Which can ♥♥♥♥ up everything. All because of NPCs that still use grills.
I'm on Day 6 and fires still die where they begin.
I can tell you that during my testing there is no fire spread. All these oven and grills problems do not exists. There is fire when arson happens or bombings. But the fire is either put out by fireman or it naturally vanishes.
One way to debug this is to to use sandbox option editing mod. During the game you can then check this setting to verify if it is off.
I do that. It doesn't work. I try to turn off fire spread and it's forced back on.
