[B42] Week One NPC
TEMPEST 2 月 27 日 下午 11:06
Request: Please add a way to mark a property as 'home' and prevent NPC's spawning inside
When you find an empty home, this mod will routinely spawn new NPC's inside (and in the immediate outside perimeter), which when they spawn, they think it's their home and become violent and force you out.

Can you add a right context menu option to declare an EMPTY house/building as yours - this would prevent you taking over someone's home when someone is already in there - so that it then prevents future NPC spawns in and around your new 'home'?

Thanks

If you do certain things in a house mod will recognize it as yours. Certainly marking a house with a click is not a way to go because it would be overused.

What things? Were are these detailed? Putting stuff in the fridge, barricading doors/windows don't work - what am I missing?

And marking it with 'a click' when a) it's empty and b) you can only mark one at a time doesn't seem like it could be 'overused'.

Not quite related to the original post, but is it possible to keep the main character from spawning in buildings like shops or bars and claiming it as their home? Happened to me a few times already. Not that it's bad, it's just a big weird. Or it's a vanilla issue?

i never had problems with NPCs spawning in after putting stuffs in a fridge, also it makes every existing NPC leave the house, making it yours. i always do this in the 2nd floor of Echo Creek Gas Station and the 2nd Floor Office outside Guns Unlimited( i bring a mini fridge since that place does not have its own fridge) the only issue is that if you grab stuffs in the house, other NPCs will still detect it as stealing

I don't think claiming is a good idea. A fridge trick is already a huge compromise. You have your own home. You can't obtain more just because you want to even if it's empty. Before the outbreak people follow rules like property law.

I disagree. There are multiple homes that are vacant. As society falls apart, taking one shouldn't be a problem.

However, the issue isn't with 'should you be able to take a house', the issue is that your (amazing) mod, creates NEW NPC's inside this empty house and they think it's their house and attack you.

They spawn (if killed or removed) every few minutes ad infinitum which is a) unrealistic and b) OP.

There needs to be a way to stop brand new NPC's spawning in an otherwise empty/abandoned house JUST because the player is in there.

Just started a new save. I left MY home to go driving. Came back and NPC's were IN MY HOUSE and ATTACKED ME telling me to get out.

And a brand new NPC walked from 'off screen' to my house and opened my LOCKED door whilst I was inside and had locked the main door.

Do they spawn in the house while you are in it? If not, you can assume, the owners just returned to that house.

The house is not abandoned just because it's empty. It's locators are away and can come back. There are some rooms defined as abandoned, These are the ones with "for lease" signs, npcs will not spawn in them.

In my OWN starter house. Front door locked. As I was in the kitchen, a SOLDIER opened my locked front door and came in and hassled me.

This sort of problem is repeatable in every savegame.

Just kill him, you are allowed, get free loot, profit.

You're NOT listening. If I kill all the NPC's inside who think it's their house, they respawn again a few minutes later and it starts over.
Slayer  [开发者] 3 月 4 日 下午 2:22
I am, you said they enter your house, but now you say they spawn in a house.

To clarify:
NPCs does not spawn in your house, if they enter somehow, they are ordered to leave immediately. Exception is party house, but then they are friendly.. Or if they are your followers.

Other houses are not yours, you are just usurping they are because you just want this to be that way. Yes they can respawn there when you are away, but people can walk you know so just imagine they traveled there.

So it looks like the house you are mentioning is apparently not your starter house. Or there is a bug, but i don't think so.

Another possibility is that the house has separate buildings. Standalone garages are separate buildings and thus are not treated as your started house.
