At anytime but good luck getting there day one. It's very heavily guarded so I recommend waiting a few days until zeds begin spawning to get to it so they'll be too busy with them to worry about you

You can do it early, but don't just rush in. The guards are very dangerous. It's worth taking some food, water and some books to read, sit in your car far enough away so you can just see the guards, and pass the time by reading. Eventually, a group of friendlies or another bandit group will attack the guards and you can safely pass. It's not worth attacking the guards yourself even if friendlies are around, as although the guards are flagged as bandits they are also classed as military and so friendlies will retaliate, even f they've just been shooting them themselves.

There will be further groups of "bandit military" in the base and outside the front doors, as well as normal military who won't shoot at you, it's really confusing. Just try and avoid them while looking for the key. It's easier to fight them inside as you can use corners but the downside is that you can't always see their numbers and they may rush and overwhelm you.

Also, avoid any people you see when in the bunker as there's currently a bug that means you can't target/shoot anyone below ground level, but they can shoot you. If you see someone downstairs, just run.

Where exactly is the Military Base? I'm using the B41 version of the mod, not sure if that matters.

its the secret military base near rosewood since in b42 added basements its in there that the nuke controls are being somewhere down there, thats why it's difficult to get down there due of tight corridors and high amount of heavily armed enemys

I suppose the B41 version has a different location or maybe it's just impossible to stop the nukes then?

I understand it's typically underground in the Rosewood area Military Research Facility, but B41 doesn't have 'basement' functionality, so I'm trying to figure out where it is for B41

I'd suggest you look at the B41 online map for the base, or reddit week one posts for B41 locations if you don't want to roleplay it out by looking for it by hand.

It's never on a road, it's off in the woods off the beaten path somewhere...
