The Tribes are comprised of two main groups. Kanati are the smaller of the two and serve as scouts, skirmish fighters, and shock troops. Zverag are the larger of the two and are hulking masses of muscle who serve as guards for tribal lands or offensive wrecking balls to quickly plow through enemy ranks. Both serve the mysterious Great Spirit, an entity who inhabits the Sanctums the Tribes call home. Little is known of the Great Spirit, but it is said to reside in a pocket dimension filled with lush flora. Any who gain enough of the Great Spirit's favor are invited to live in these sanctums, and villages are often built around the entrances. The beasts carve constructs out of various materials and bewitch them to patrol their lands, ripping apart any invaders while guiding allies to safety.
The Legions have primarily been a wandering horde for most of their existence by Sol's decree. They have wandered throughout the world becoming temporary denizens in numerous cities beleaguered by undead hosts, Greenskin hordes, Chaos Warbands, or other such antagonistic forces. Here they would trade their blades not for gold, but for knowledge. Weapon designs. Forging secrets. Farming techniques. All a civilization had to offer, while sharpening their penchant for war against these myriad foes. But this undertaking was not done alone, as the Tribes have established entrances to their sanctums all over the world. While the Legions crush their foes in open battle or extended sieges, the Tribes would ambush isolated armies travelling through the wilderness and ensure any combatants fleeing from the Legion's onslaught were hunted down. Masters of the wild, the Tribes excel at gathering raw materials from strange plants, exotic creatures, or locating rich mineral veins. The raw materials are then traded to the Legions in the great cities who refine and improve the raw materials into weapons, medicines, and all manner of goods. Although many of these goods find their way back to the Tribes, the Sun magic wielded by the Legion is the most valuable commodity the Tribes desire. Artificial sunlight brought forth by their mages allows the sanctums and villages to flourish, granting the Great Spirit more power and the Tribes more security.
Millenia of wandering have recently come to an end, and Sol now commands the Legions to claim territory in his name to push back the innumerable terrors that seek to destroy the civilized world.
