Most likely the English language pack overrides this mod. What this even is, and why do you need it?

It's not a mod. It's the steam thing. You choose a language in "General" settings.

Then, "mod doesn't work" as if "I see only the vanilla game" or as if "I get an error instead of mod"?

I installed Gothic 2: NoTR, then the mods listed above and the game starts and plays. How do I know it doesn't work? The additional scrolls you guys placed around the world are not present in the game.

What about other mods? Are you sure they are working? Do you have Workshop beta enabled?

Yup. Union mods work, DXD11 doesn't work from steam, so you gotta do it manually (works as well.) Texture pack works. Beta set to workshop - beta.

The mod is last in the load order. I chose the order steam recommends.

Do you see the new main menu when you launch the mod?
Can you use "Insert Spawn_Test_Items" command, too?


As a last resort you can try disabling all mods except for Union and NoFriendlyFire, then see if things work.

Fixed it. Solution: First of all moved the mod to the top of the Load Order in the Workshop section of Steam; below the main Union patch for Gothic. The game was crashing, so I started turning off the addons one by one. In the end I turned off Ninja, Union Extended Stats, Autosave and Quick Load/Save Manager from the list above and now everything works.
If you, the reader, have the same problem do the above + remember to start the game by choosing the "Generous Magic" in the workshop launcher. I moved the mod up top, below "Gothic 2: Gold Edition too.
P.S. Any language pack should work. The subtitles will be in English, but all the voice-overs in the language of your choosing.

What is your Operating System?

Hi. I'm on windows 11. I should mention that when saving the game I can still load the save after I restart. The preview window in Load Game just shows up white.

Do you have D3D11 mod installed/subscribed?

And most importantly, do you not encounter these problems in Vanilla Gothic II?

No problems when running vanilla G2.

Here is what i have and the load order:
1. Union - patch for G2
2. Generous Magic (launching the game from here)
3. No Friendly Fire
4. D3D11 Render mod

Update: Moving the mod at the very top looks to have fixed it.
