[The mod is still in beta phase]


This mod is a collective effort of the Gothic Modding Community.
It intends to make a mage in Gothic II: Night of the Raven a lot more forgiving and conventionally fun, making it possible for a first time player to beat the game without much struggle, and just making mage feel properly powerful in general.


Notable changes:

• - Staffs of Regen, Efficiency, Mana, and Summon.
• - Open Locks Spell.
• - Blessings from Isgaroth, Pyrokar and Vatras give you temporary protection and HP Regeneration bonuses.
• - Tweaked enemy resistances to magic to be less tanky, and some enemies have double damage weakness to certain spells.
• - Mana learning cost now increases every 60 instead of 30.
• - Ability to obtain Water Robes by learning Magic Circles from Saturas.
• - All runes runes cost no more than 10 LP to learn.
• - Bonus Independent Training.
• - Traders sell more mana potions and certain scrolls with adjusted prices.
• - Scrolls on the way from Xardas’s Tower right until Test of Fire cave to aid soon-to-be magicians.
• - Army of Darkness (reworked), Wave of Ice and Large Fire Storm are now Circle 4.
• - Water and Ice + Electric spells result in double damage.
• - Rune Exchange mechanic - unneeded runes can be solt at Gorax or Cronos for small amount of LP.
• - Constantino now gives you a Permanent Mana Potion every 50 Dark Mushrooms you bring him.
• - Alchemy is much more viable.
•• - Instead of Meadow Knotweed, Essence requires Forest Berries and Extract requires Blue Elders.
•• - Perma Mana and Health potions do not require learning regular potions first.

Yes, I tried balancing out Storm after video review from Lewek, where once Storm is unlocked all other spells become irrelevant. I must've missed it in the changelog.

Looks like Storm got a pretty substantial nerf, but I didn’t see it mentioned in the full changelog. Any chance it could be added for clarity?

Language selection can be found on the top bar in the mod launcher.

Hi all,
I have a very noobish question - how do you change language of this mod? I am using Polish but the mod is mixed of Polish and English (menu and voices are in Polish but dialogues and items in inventory are in English). How I can make this all Polish? Thanks!

I get it for people who like the true vanilla playthrough and I respect that. We can't all like the same thing but at least we all live Gothic
For me after playing something complex like Renovation or Nostalgic it just doesn't work to just play the normal Notr and that's fine. Also there was a long old mold for those who loved the Vanilla experience called "The heights of power" is a long dead mod but it had some nice balance and basically was a vanilla or Notr experience but with more rewards. Not many people know about it or even talk about it. I feel like is something taboo.

Thanks for feedback.
1) I am not sure if you were just unlucky with Bartok. I haven't changed anything that would impact this, like meele resistances or the damage he deals. Everything should be just like in NotR here.
2) I thought I fixed that already O.o Lemme check

Currently playing the mod and enjoying it very much.
But there are a couple of things I noticed.
1) Bartok is pretty useless during your hunt with him. He can't even kill 6 wolves needed for Bosper's quest. He kills one with a bow, then switches to melee. And dies pathetically. Then in original NotR he was strong enough to kill Shadow Beast and Orc in that forest. Besides wolves. (Not that much of a problem really - one demon summoning and everything is right in the world again))).
2) Constantino gives you permanent Mana Potion for every 50 mushrums (besides money). But you can buy them back from him immidiatly and get another potion. And another. And another. You can farm them indefinatelly this way. Why spend Learning Points when all you need are 50 mushrooms and 500 gold?

This is a very conscious design decision. All mods I know that change magic are like L'Hiver, AB/NB or Nostalgic, etc. The mods I wouldn't want to play personally.

As a purist, I wanted to fill a niche of a mod that focuses entirely and only on magic, everything else being Vanilla NotR, maybe with most basic fixes like Lares' Ornament.

The concept it isnt bad but i already no longer play Notr normal after playing ''Nostalgic edition" normal Notr is just not enough or satisfying anymore . this is an interesting mod cuz it makes the mage fun to play since i never played it in normal Notr but if i want a fun experince as a mage i just play Nostalgic. now if this mod had a few things in it for all the classes and new items some expanded area and such. i wouldn't mind heck even new Npc. you dont need voice acting or anything just the text in english to give you the quest and the entry in your journal and thats it. ill take that.
