Train Cars
You configure the types of train cars by clicking on the Engine. There are the following types of cars.

Box Wagon
Flat Wagon
Gondola Wagon
Metal Cart
Passenger Wagon
Tank Wagon

what are each of them used for

Not sure they are used for anything now. The mod is sort of being replaced by the in-game tubes. Also, last time I played, Dec 2024, the mod had a lot of pathing issues and was not working well with the two sided trading post/gates. Just my experience.

the train cars are purely decorative, though if you're smart you can use them to mark and differentiate multiple trains and their locations.
