"Civilian Economy":
Module Types:
Intended as an option for "bad" Base locations, and/or a way to help boost the population of that particular orbital Body. Tier 1 only for now, but bears a population equal to a Station full of Quarters (150, as opposed to the Outpost Mining Complex of 12). Intended to scale crew size similar to Quarters/Residential Module/Civilian Complex, so probably 150/500/2500 minimum compared to the base game modules, possibly more like 150/1000/5000 of my Hab Overhaul mod
Fluff:
Solarian/Spacer: Someone that lives in space inside our Solar System
Intrasystem: Inside the Solar System (Intersystem would be between Solar Systems outside of our Solar System)
Radio Hab: The Radio Habs are part of a radio network that helps coordinate the entire Solarian population. They are key logistical hubs, and without their constant intrastellar signals the Integrated Core project would be dead in the water. The bandwidth and breadth of frequencies needed, however, is seldom appreciated by others, even those within their own faction.
Security Hab: While there are Marine presences on board the Security Hab series, they focus far more on preparing to counter threats elsewhere. Marines are still present, and while not an afterthought are not the focus of these modules.
Laboratory Habs: Crewed by Spacers that love science but are not beholden to any of the Rainbow schools of thought, these Labs get more done and can go anywhere than the Rainbow labs, but do not provide bonuses to any individual Rainbow Tech tree.
Living Spaces: Crewed by Spacers that are well aware of the detrimental effects that living outside of Earth gravity will have on their bodies, they nonetheless are determined to fulfill the human dream of expanding beyond their one world. But the Spacers that live in these modules have a decidedly industrial bent. Their industrial-focused living spaces provide key bonuses, but require more resources than a living module populated by less industrially-minded Spacers.
Transport Docks: The central Cargo hub of any Station, Transport Docks are generally intended for deeper-space use. That is, outside of the Interface Orbit of Orbital Bodies. While it is true that most Stations and Bases have Mass Driver arrays to deliver and catch resources, Transport Docks provide a central location and oversight of all cargo coming and going rather than a more haphazard, devil-may-care approach. As such, they tend to elicit feelings of goodwill and allow for the more efficient useage of bandwidth and space, but at the cost of valuable space and resources.
Mining Dock (Surface Base Series): A dedicated module for assisting in the mining of materials. Consists of berths for mining vessels, advanced ore-detecting sensors, and additional refining and storage space. This allows for a reduction in resources used by the Base, and the Mining operations to be slightly more efficient.
Industrial Arrays (Orbital Mining Dock Series): A module in orbit of a Solar body that helps support the industrial infrastructure. Besides extensive Mass Driver arrays, warehousing, and specialized refining equipment, they also usually have several specialized craft designed for mining directly from the body they orbit (the -Ops bit), and allows for a reduction in resourced used by the Station.
Requires: A New World Ordered, Outpost Core
Projects:
Basic Space Industry (750 Research, Unlock Tier 1, Grants 3 Boost)
Advanced Space Industry (2,500 Research, Unlock Tier 2, Grants 10 Boost.)
Security, Radio, Lab, Living Spaces, Transport Docks, Mining Docks
Tier 2 (-ish) Tech:
Supreme Space Industry (12,500 Research, Unlock Tier 3, Grants 50 Boost)
Core:
Security Hab:
Radio Hab
Laboratory Hab
Living Spaces Hab
Transport Dock Hab
Mining Dock Hab
The Mining Dock does not print free resources. It instead acts as basically a farm up to the amount listed.
Note: In the original Space Industry, all Tier 3 Modules were 1 per Station. Now only the Mining Dock and the Transport Dock remain 1 per Station.
Note to self: Stop displaying crew maintenance costs as actual costs. this is entirely unhelpful
