No settings menu bug
OLD GUIDE, NO LONGER RELEVANT

If settings menu is empty
Please reply here with:
1) Your OS (windows 10, 11, etc.)
2) Do you have fresh save or mid - playthrough installation of my mod
3) Go to
C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Avorion/moddata/Real Stations

****For windows: open search bar and type %appdata% in the search bar to quckly get there

a) Is there the "Real Stations" folder in "moddata" at all?
b) Is it empy?
b) Are there 3 files in this folder:
- "defaultConfig.lua"
- "userConfig.lua"
- "version.lua"

How to fix by yourself

  1. Go to the folder C:/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/445220/3254980677/data/defaultConfig
    *remember where your Steam is installed, search there
  2. Copy folder named "Real Stations"
  3. Go to C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Avorion/moddata
    *For windows: open search bar and type %appdata% in the search bar to quckly get there
  4. Paste "Real Stations" folder from step.2 here
  5. Final result: C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Avorion/moddata/Real Stations

- Open this folder, there are 3 files
- Now you can edit "userConfig.lua" to change mod settings
- musicVolume and soundsVolume can be set from 0 to 200
- the other ones can be set to true or false to enable or disable them

- showMoney
*Shows your money in the top bar
- showBackground
*On/off background images. Alternatively, you can do this using the Spacebar
sounds
- showRecources
*Left corner overlay with resources list. Recommended if backgrounds are on
- showFrame
*Decorative frame encasing default game windows
- sounds
*On/off sounds like crowd noise, factory noise, etc .The default value is 100. Keep your ears safe
- soundsVolume 100
*volume of sounds like crowd noise, factory noise, etc
- showTopBar
*Top bar with several new indicators
- crewMusic
*On/off the 'Hire Crew' window music. The default value is 100. Keep your ears safe
- musicVolume
*volume of 'Hire Crew' window music
- showCargo
*Shows current ship's free cargo space
- showDocking
*Shows whether your ship is docked or undocked
- showRightPortrait
*NPC portrait in the lower right corner
- showLeftPortrait
*Your captain's portrait in the lower left corner
- showDialogue
*Dialog box below
- undockedBackgrounds*
*Show backgrounds even if your ship is not docked to the station
- VIall
*Enable voicelenes from virtual assistant commenting your interaction with stations
- VIdocked
*Triggers when a window is shown and you are docked to the station
- VIhiringCrew
*Triggers when you are hiring crew
- VItradeSell
*Triggers when you are selling something
- VItradeBuy
*Triggers when you are buying something
- VItransferComplete
*Triggers when the trade window is closed and something was sold/bought
- VIallSold
*Triggers when you have sold out everything
- VIrefiningCompleted
*Triggers when you take refined resources from refinery
- VIresourcesReceived
*Triggers when you buy resources from the refinery
- VIresourcesTransferred
*Triggers when sell resources to the refinery
- VIcargobayFull
*Triggers when you have < 3 cargo space left
- VIaccomodatingCrew
*Triggers when the crewboard window is closed and crew members were hired
- VImissionAccepted
*Triggers when you accept a mission
- VIshipConstruction
*Triggers when you building a ship in the shipyard
- VIshipRepaired
*Triggers when you are repairing ship at the repair dock
- VInewFighter
*Triggers when you construct a fighter at the fighter factory
- VIturretConstructed
*Triggers when you construct a fighter at the turret factory
- VIhiringCaptain
*Triggers when you are hiring a captain

Using windows 10 pro
Accessing a Pterodactyl server
This location already DID exist and had the 3 files but the Real Stations Settings page is still blank
C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Avorion/moddata/Real Stations

Thank you for the report. You can help me fix this bug if you do steps from "How to fix by yourself" section in my first comment and answer 2 questions:
1) Does Settings page remain empty?
2) If it's still empty, do the settings in the game change when you manually change values in the files?

Re-did the "fix by self" steps in single player mode.
- No change settings page is still blank.

Did manual changes to see if they were taking effect.
- They did change, example: showFrame false, showMoney false. Removes the blue framework around the dialog and other elements, removes your player cash from the top of the screen.

They still work, great. That means that there is bug in settings rendering
Could you post here your "clientlog.txt" from C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/Avorion?
There will be several of them, choose the most recent one, they have date and time in their name
That will show me exaclty what is wrong

The file is correct. But there are no mentions of my mod (date is 2025-04-20, time is 9:34). Is it the most recent one?

Line 144 retrieves it, 233 denotes it is running.
Then when I go into a station and click "Settings (Real Stations)"
nothing is being sent tot he log, I assume because there is thing displayed other then the (Graphics, Audio, Reset, and Save buttons)

Is there something I can do on that screen to trigger logging?

Fixed bug with empty settings window. Way to reproduce: resolution higher than 1920x1080 or UI scale lesser than 100%. Now everything works as intended
