Possible Bug-Surface Rock Mining
When using the tool in drill mode on a surface rock, the sim process basically freezes, and you have to kill the game from task manager. I had multiple tools on a rotating head (small grid). Normal surface drilling works fine.

This might be a mod/mod interaction, as i do have over 80 installed. But since it works normally, and only bugs out on surface rocks, figured id post a report.

ive encountered severe SS drop as well using the Drill setting on occasion. for me simply repositioning seemed to fix it.

"Might be"? More likely an almost "guaranteed" mod conflict with 80+ mods, lol...
It might even be possible its another mod conflicting with something else rather than this mod specifically. Just saying. In the years I've been playing SE, I don't think I've ever used even half that many mods in a world file either.

I get the same exact issue. As soon as I drilled into an iron surface deposit my simulation drops to 0 like the mods in a TMI loop.

im getting the same problem and ive only got 8-10 mods on. none of which mess with drilling or tools. im thinking this is a multi tool drilling issue. its easier to get this problem with using more than 1-2 multi tools for drilling at once. so for now i might just stick to 1 dedicated tool for drilling.

Same problem. anytime it interacts with vox it freezes up and needs to be terminated. wield and grind mode work fine. using it on small asteroids (about the same size of 5x5x5 LG.) works fine. anything thicker it bugs out. It might have something to do with its work speed?. as it reacts similar to the sim drop when placing far too many warheads to clear vox quickly.

I have this issue with just a handful of mods or 180+ mods. I find if you get a little closer it stops. Something about drilling at the extent of the range the sim doesnt like it.

Wish we could remove the drilling feature and just keep the welding and grinding features.

yeah it freezes for other players on my server when im using my laser drill

I found that using a single laser works fine, but as soon as I add a second it does the freeze. I did at least notice that at times you are able to disable it by pressing the activate/deactivate key, but not always
