im not sure why its still Grinding mode seem not really working. just delete stuff even grinding it. need to fix honestly.

I want to add a weird question. I have made a tool mod in the past and there is something i could never figure out, how the heck do you add in the "Draw" option in your info panel for your block? It has always drove me crazy why i cant figure that out and looking through your files i still cant lol.

I dont understand everyone who is complaining about OP of laser drilling, did you check the output? We made some tests and the output of default drills is up to 10 times higher. So you get range bonus but it cost of material loss in case of mining,

What i would like to see is a range slider, that would be nice to precise cut holes.

its really cool but the drilling is way to fast for my taste. Is there a config or settings i can change?

Is it intentional that the laser tools aren't selectable in the custom turret controller? I got around it by placing a camera and then manually toggling if the tools are on, but it would be a lot more convenient if I could just manually control the tools.

is there any chance for you to make it so the large grid turret can be manually controlled?

I realize having the turret be manually controlled would make the large grid multitools a smidge obsolete, but having the option to control what is being welded up without having to build a subgrid custom laser welder/grinder would be fantastic.

Seems to have an issue on small grid where after docking/undocking, you get {0} Is not working until you either grind them down and rebuild or reload. Anyone else seeing this?

I would like to extend the range to 1k is it easy to do, I am thinking of an eve ship with 6 of these mining 6 different targets

Gotta agree with StarJammer on the grinding mode. Weld and drill are good enough, but having it drill a hole clear through my ship and out the other side was an experience.

Figured out the 'work color' thing though, so that will help.

is there a way to fix a bug with the laser turret tool? for some reason it keeps aiming at this black hole it randomly generated and ive destroyed it and repaired it back up but it wont work, thanks.

I really want to use this. But it seems way overpowered for what it does. Grind mode basically turns the tool into a ranged weapon. Weld mode is great as it is. Drill and grind mode can probably be balanced by nurfing the range.

Got a bit of a graphical glitch, when ever loading a world, the drills have the laser on, but not functioning. Turning the drill off and on again or vice versa resets it and its fine until next world load. Also, the draw function does not match the actual working range, just an FYI there.

So when i have this on a toolbar for the tool selection and i connect to my ship to unload, the tool greys out and i cant select it again. I've tried everything to fix it but the only way is to re load the game

For small reason the SG versions are not appearing when placed on a small grid object.

I just tried out this mod, (so far i only tested drilling)
and while i really do like the concept,
this multitool is just insanely overpowered, and it causes major lag...

The 100m range is way too powerful/overpowered;
and when the lasers are 100m long the lag increases, drastically.
(as opposed to when they are about 10-30 meters long, then the lag isnt as bad)

On top of this, the multitool is insanely cheap;
while it is way more powerful than a prototech drill; in comparison...

So, to fix these issues, i would suggest these changes:
* decrease the length of the beam to (for example) 20 meters
* increase the cost of the multitool; it should at least cost prototech components. (imho)

@DMMWolf you can use ModAdjusterV2 to adjust the non-toolcore aspects of the blocks such as power draw and component requirements, though you do have to know your way around XML format to do so.

This may sound odd... but is there a way to make these need Prototech parts. Not as a standard but like as an optional system to keep them balanced with the Prototech drills? Maybe even a small modifier mod to do it or something? Asking for a means to keep them balanced to a server

Something is wrong with the mod. When i drill ressources on mars (big rock), the game freezes forever. Only alt f4 helps here. This mod need a fix.

Laser Multitool turret claims its building Light Armor Block facing in completely the wrong direction to do that. No viable beam, but sparks at location it's facing and damage if walk through invisible beam. While using 0 power.. Somethings really wrong with this mod.

Could I perhaps ask you to add a range setting to the static lasers? Otherwise I've got my welding walls poking straight through my base, plus it would help a lot with precision excavating. Please consider it.

Would it be possible to get some small connection points on the small grid lasers? Most ships out there can't easily slot in a large connection point, which makes this hard to use for existing mining ships.

This is not working I dont know why, i have the turret tool on my ship, it will not grind or do anything , i even forced it on and aimed it manually and still will not weld :/ no idea what is breaking this.

Hey, is there a way to edit the mod for a local save so it will draw more power, and I want to reduce the radius of the turrets? You know, to make my life more difficult.

found a bug if you use the laser tool with a custom turret controller your game will crash found this in my log.

Bugs:
1. After some time tools are not working at all. Grind down and replace - the only fix.
2. Trying to mine rocks on ground - causes freezes (less % just not mining). Using 2 lasers at same rock can deadlock your game.

When I un-dock from ship loose left and right click control. Have to grind it down and rebuild it for it to work again.

having a issue with simple multi tool turret not working with tracking on its own grid. Its hit or miss for them to work. i have tried 3 mods at the same time this one and beam turret tool seem to have the issue. omnitool seems to work 90% of the time. Even with color workmod on it doesnt work and wont weld/grind. Also the laser animation seems to be hit or miss as well

I didn't realise how much I missed the old iterations of this - sadly I've had issues running this. I do have a hefty mod load, but it stopped appearing on my 'ship tools', I can't adjust the beam range (kind of useful for mining), and then my save corrupted and I had to roll back to recover it. Might have been tool core. Will try and test over the weekend.

I think this has to be the best quality of life mod for SE, but there is one bug I discovered, though its not a huge deal. If you have more than a few (In my case, ten) they will converge on one spot and will just stop grinding. This might also be the case for welding but I have yet to test that.

i had the same issue with the laser tool not being able to weld projections.
found the reason why.
i'm running a torch server and i'm using the plugin called Multigrid Projector, this plugin causes the blocks to not be weld but the plugin has a compability setting that fixes this issue. would be nice to add this to a "known issue" tab in the description.

Anyone have any issues with Grinder not working for the multitool turret? it wont track even if painted? normally have to tear it down and rebuild for it to work again
