No player weapon will have longer range than an average NPC Turret.
That said there's a lot of weapons that people just don't see as worth using. I don't think I've ever seen anyone use the pirate blaster cannon, and I've been curious about it since RE1 but it didn't seem worth using on my ships whenever I played. After all this time I'm finally building a ship around it, full on 16 of them as the main armament and wow, I can take legacy ships and Toveras with it without any quantums or aux cores. There's a lot more thought put into RE2 than people give credit, and making edits to change things how you see fit is...
I'd love to try that out if your planning on sharing the blueprint. I've tried building, but turns out I'm really really bad at it
I don't upload my ships to the workshop though I have kind of considered it lately. I just build for myself because I don't want to use other people's ships.
Never stopped me :D
Most of my ships are very boxy looking but functional - Ugly as a cyber truck. Sometime I even paint them! They are designed to be functional and do a specific job and I refine them until they do it well.
