The materials all make sense and you will see direct results of what you are contributing.
It's pretty clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating this whole chain, so kudos to the designer(s).
That all said, if you are looking for any benefit other than the reputation, look elsewhere. Unless I'm missing something, you get nothing for completing it (though it did break my leg after the last phase). It will cost several million in materials (mainly from robotics and pre-fabs), and you'll want to have a decent Polaris supply chain. I really feel like some rare vendors or something might be in order upon completion. Some sort of passive income might be neat as well, turning it into an investment.
I will say, it's worth doing once, and I think it could be the basis for other neat developmental POIs or other contribution-type efforts. But for the time, effort, and money, you only get the satisfaction of having done it really.
A completed colony has hidden in its final containers ultra, very rare and rare containers of loot.
In addition you have unlimited access to the colony's Furnaces and Constructors.
Ahh. Okay. I'm so used to ignoring containers in factioned areas I hadn't even considered looking. Thanks.
