Enemy NPC types and effective weaponry
Since there's no search function for threads within a workshop page, forgive me if this already has been asked before.

I noticed that handheld weapons have buffs/debuffs against certain enemy types. I've went all over the place to find out which type of npc/enemy is classified as which enemy type, but without any result. So far, I've found the following classifications:

Soft Wildlife
Armored Wildlife

Humanoid
Armored Humanoid

Mechanical
Drone

My main question here is, can anyone list / show me a place with information regarding what type of NPC belongs to which? I've read that and Overseer is considered ''armored wildlife'', though i would have assumed it was soft wildlife. Infiltrators on the other hand appear ''armored'' to me because of their carapace like appearance. Same goes for humanoids. When is it considered ''armored''? I've also assumed that the robotic enemies you encounter are considered mechanical and that Drone enemies are the actual drones and flying enemies like Zirax plasma gunships/drop ships etc etc.

But then there are some peculiar cases. Infected/legacy variants adhere to their original type, or are they something else? I assume the npc's that basically look like 3CPO are considered Mechanical? I assume the Legacy bosses you can encounter in Abandoned POI are considered mechanical?

Then moving on to weapon tooltips. From my understanding, certain weapons, both handheld and hv/sv/cv wise, have impact damage. This impact damage, if present, is stated on the bottom of the weapon tooltip, correct? Is said impact and/or explosive damage also buffed by the weapon's special?

Example 1: XCorp Plasma rifle deals 125 damage explosive damage, at the bottom it states 125 damage again. That non specified 125 damage is the actual ''on hit'' damage that can only hit 1 target/block correct?

Example 2: GRL-45A Rocket Launcher deals +400% damage to mechanicals and drones. It deals 300 explosive damage and at the bottom it states ''400 damage''. If it were to hit a mechanical enemy with a direct hit, would that mean both the 300 explosive damage and the 400 regular damage would receive a 400% damage boost?

For those who make it to this end, thank you for reading all of this. For those who are answering, please stick to the mentioned questions. I've seen too many threads on video games derail into ''but why do you care if you can just 1 shot them with X weapon anway?'' My questions are only asked because I want to understand the underlying design. Thank you again for showing interest!

For the direct vs explosive damage, the direct damage applies to whatever it directly hits, and then the explosive damage is additionally applied to everything (including the target that was directly hit) within the aoe range, with targets further away taking less damage on average.

However explosive damage is a bit more complicated than that. Basically, the larger a target is, the more damage it will take from explosions as more "rays" from the explosion will hit it.
