1) close the game completely

2) download a png that's just an alpha layer (google 'empty png' or 'blank png')

3) navigate to \steamapps\workshop\content\294100\3121742525\Textures\Things\Misc

4) rename DMS_BionicEye_east and DMS_BionicEye_south to something else

5) paste your blank png into the same folder and rename it DMS_BionicEye_east

6) paste it a second time and rename it DMS_BionicEye_south

Et voila!

hope this helps someone else avoid having to restart their game several times trying different 'remove bionic eye' mods, that dont work with DMS
