Once you have followed all the steps, the ingame console may still say something like
"Cannot find mod dlls - there is no 'Mods' folder"

Note how Mods was case sensitive?

for some reason the premade mods folder is lowercase, if you use linux it might be like that for you. Copy the mods folder found in "StreamingAssets" and rename it to Mods, and delete the old one ("mods" ---> "Mods"). Restart the game with the experimental mode active and it *should* work. Pretty simple fix, hope it helps someone.
