Future of the mod
Good evening miners,

I've been busy, and it's been hard to find the time to work on this mod. First I wanted to update the mod in January, then May, and now I don't know how I want to proceed from here. I still want to update the mod eventually, but life tends to get in the way of passion projects. I will at least share the (slow) progress that has been made:

Overclocks
Overclocks in Deep Rock Galactic represent the sixth tier of weapon upgrades. Overclocks can go from a small boon to stats, to playstyle defining changeups. Overclocks can only be obtained if at least 1 upgrade in each tier has been unlocked.

Each weapon has received 3 overclocks. Clean overclocks, represented by a green outline, are small tweaks to a weapon that enhance their uses. Unstable overclocks, with a red outline, change the gameplay of the weapon (and may require the use. Balanced overclocks lie somewhere in the middle, and have yellow outlines.

Upgrade Station: Overclock Tab
In order to accommodate Overclocks, the Upgrade Station has been retrofitted with a new menu for selecting overclocks. The menu contains two halves: The left half shows which overclocks are unlocked for each weapon, and the right half shows details for the selected overclock. Overclocks can be equipped by double clicking them, or by clicking the "equip" button on the top right of the details half.

This is actually why development has been so slow. Terraria's UI is not great to work with :(

Quests and Matrix Cores (Development is here)
Quests are being changed, probably for the better. Currently, the quest system is just another way of gaining resources, which is fine, but there's no extra flair or flavor. The goal is to tie some sort of progression to quests, and this will be done by adding Matrix Cores.

Blank Matrix Cores will be obtained in some way or another. After completing a set amount of quests, Mission Control will offer the ability to infuse a blank core with an overclock. Inserting the Infused Matrix Core into the user interface will allow for crafting of the overclock, which permanently unlocks the overclock for the weapon. Since Matrix Cores function as tools, they are non-consumable and can be shared in multiplayer.

Sidenote: There is a little bit of randomness in how Matrix Cores are chosen.. but! Overclocks will only be chosen from the weapons in your inventory, and duplicates will not be given unless all of the overclocks have been obtained for those weapons. This also means that if an overclock is desired for a particular weapon, you can stow the weapon to prevent getting one.

General Rebalancing
Like mentioned in the v1.1 teaser in January, the entire balance of the mod is going to change. Instead of having few weapons that try to do too much, weapons will have narrower spots in progression. For example, the M1000 has upgrades that require vortex fragments--5 tiers is not enough to go from pre-Hardmode to post-Golem!

By making weapons more in line with vanilla balancing (and also with the work that I've been doing), future updates will be far more frequent--focusing on just a few weapons per update.
