v1.0.0 is finally here!

New Features
  • New Magic Weapon - The Cryo Cannon
    • Deals very low damage, but has the ability to freeze enemies!
    • Intended to be used as a tool rather than a weapon.
    • Crafted with 12 (Cobalt/Palladium) Bars, 1 Frost Core, and 10 Fallen Stars.
  • New Upgrade Mechanics - The Upgrade Station
    • The new system allows for 5 "tiers" of upgrades (vertical columns), with each tier having 2-3 upgrades each.
    • Upgrades can now only be equipped/removed at an upgrade station.
    • Each weapon will now have their own tree of upgrades.
    • Crafted with 20 Sunplate Blocks, 8 (Gold/Palladium) Bars, and 10 glass.
  • Temperature
    • Temperature is a value for NPCs that starts at 0 and ranges from -100 to 100.
    • Cooling weapons / upgrades will bring temperature to -100, and heating weapons / upgrades will bring it to 100.
    • While at -100, enemies will freeze, gain frostburn, and receive a weakness to Melee and Summon damage.
    • While at 100, enemies will gain On Fire! and receive a weakness to Ranged and Magic damage.
  • Cooldowns
    • All weapons are impacted by a cooldown mechanic, which sort of acts as a reload.
    • Upgrades may impact the "magazine" (how long before the cooldown actives) or the "reload time" (the time it takes for the cooldown to finish).
    • Cooldowns finish automatically, allowing you to switch between weapons while your first weapon cools down.

v0.9.3 has released! This update introduces 1 new weapon, new upgrades, and reworks of some old ones.

New Content

Zhukovs NUK-17
  • 28 damage
  • Very fast speed
  • Shoots a volley of 2 bullets
  • Consumes ammo when each bullet is shot
  • Obtainable at the start of Hardmode

Upgrade: Get In, Get Out
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs
  • Grants +50% acceleration for 3 seconds on killing an enemy

Upgrade: Drum Magazine
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs
  • Increases the fire rate and shoots 4 bullets per volley

Overclock: Cryo Minelets
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs
  • Hitting a tile with a bullet will produce mines that freeze enemies

Overclock: Static Blast
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs
  • Bullets shoot in a wide cone. Enemies caught between the cone will become electrified

Overclock: Embedded Detonators
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs
  • Heavily reduces direct damage output, but shots embed detonators.
  • Detonators explode when Alt Fire (right click) is pressed.
  • The increase in damage falls off for each detonator embedded

Upgrade: Thin Containment Field
  • Equippable on the EPC
  • Replaces Overtuned Nozzle
  • Charged shots can be popped by hitting them with an uncharged shot.
  • The resulting explosion will stun enemies for 2 seconds

Upgrade: Plasma Splash
  • Equippable on the EPC
  • Replaces Hot Plasma
  • Uncharged shots produce small AoE bursts when they hit tiles or enemies

Overclock: Persistant Plasma
  • Equppable on the EPC
  • Replaces E-Z Boom
  • Charged shots explode when hitting tiles or enemies, and linger for 5 seconds
  • Inflicts stun for the entire duration of the projectile's life

Overclock: Cold Plasma
  • Equippable on the EPC
  • Replaces Piercing Plasma
  • Projectiles inflict ice-related debuffs. Uncharged shots inflict frostburn, and charged shots inflict freeze

Overclock: Heavy Hitter
  • Equippable on the EPC
  • Replaces Mountain Mover
  • Removes the ability to charge and reduces fire rate, in exchange for high damage, fully-charged projectiles

Upgrade: Overtuned Nozzle
  • Equippable on the EPC and Sludge Pump
  • Increases the velocity of all projectiles by 1.5

Upgrade: Hollow Point Rounds
  • Equippable on the Zhukovs, M1000, and Jury-Rigged Boomstick
  • Inflicts stun on hit. Does not stack, in the case of the Zhukovs and Boomstick

Reworked Upgrades
Overclock: Waste Ordnance
Now applies its effect to charged and uncharged sludge balls.

Overclock: Goo Bomber Special
Releases large sludge balls instead of small ones. These sludge balls fragment like charged sludge balls.

Overclock: Digging Rounds
Now applies its effect to charged and uncharged projectiles.

Overclock: Supercooling Chamber
Increased damage boost from 2x -> 3x. The final multiplier is now 6x.

Minor tweaks:

-Retextured some upgrades to look more visually appealing
-Retextured the shift-click icon when adding items to the upgrade menu
-Added new tooltips to detail how to open the upgrade menu (right click on my mods' weapons)
-Added clarification as to what the slots do in the upgrade menu

I'm working as hard as school permits on my mod. The semester is picking up, so I will be extremely busy until the semester ends, December 12th. I can't give too accurate of a deadline for v1.0, however you can always view my progress on my GitHub page at https://www.github.com/scottysimply/deeprockitems. My mod is open source and I try to document a lot of my complicated features. I also am open to suggestions and improvements through PRs. love programming, and although modding isn't a good option for beginners, I still love trying to get people interested.

0.9.0 Pre-release

Features:
- New weapon: Plasma Pistol
- Deals magic damage
- Fires high-speed plasma balls at the enemy
- Hold left click to fire a charged shot: Due to safety reasons, the shot fires automatically. Charged shots are slower, but deal much more damage.
- Special: Hitting a charged shot with a normal shot makes it explode and cover more range.
- New weapon: Jury-Rigged Boomstick
- Deals ranged damage
- Serves as a direct upgrade to the Boomstick. At base, the weapon is slightly better than a Boomstick. However, the Jury-Rigged Boomstick is upgrade-certified!
- New weapon: Sludge Pump
- Deals magic damage
- Fires toxic waste in a shallow arc
- Hold left click to fire a charged shot: Charged shots have higher damage and splatter on impact.
- New weapon: M1000 Classic
- Deals ranged damage
- Turns musket balls into high-velocity bullets
- Hold left click to fire a charged shot: Charged shots have upgraded stats, but take a small amount of time to fire.
- Each weapon has 3, unique overclocks available to them. Each weapon also gains an additional set of upgrades.
- New NPC: Mission Control
- No one knows how he got here, but he seems to have a fondness for the fauna and flora in Terraria!
- Provides a unique quest system.
- Completing quests rewards the player with some crafting ingredients and the holy grail: Upgrades.
- Every 3 quests completed provides the player with a Matrix Core, used to craft overclocks.
- All other quests reward the player with Upgrade Tokens, used to craft upgrades.
- He may give you a token of his appreciation after you do some work for him :)
