Thank you! I do find that, every game, I have at least one interesting story like this which emerges from the randomness.
Hey, nice to know. Thanks!
One thing I'm pretty proud of is that I finally figured out what was making the AI marry off their young sons to elderly wives, even despite all the marriage acceptance modifiers to the contrary. So, with LMF, you can scroll around the world and you should see that (just about) every marriage or betrothal pairing should seem logical.
Long time user of this mod and I hope you continue the compatibility for GOT (which I tend to play more haha)
I love how highborns are more likely to marry other great houses and not some 72 year old peasant. At first I was apprehensive regarding the RP additions but they are fantastic and fit perfectly in the game. I love the family feasts and how what the family is up to matches their traits.
I have had many instances of marrying my kids off to characters I myself would not have chosen and becoming more immersed in the story instead of the min max of it all. What you set out to do you totally achieved. Huge props and thank you :)
I really appreciate you telling me this. Thank you!
Ah, nice! That's a pretty rare outcome for a family feast duel, but it can indeed happen. Glad to know you're getting something out of the mod.
This isn't really the kind of thread meant for this, but in short: the AI normally uses the marriage modifiers (as you'd expect) when evaluating marriages with other courts. Yet, when it eventually gets around to checking if there are any prospects within its own court, suddenly it doesn't. Every time a young man ended up married or betrothed to a woman he really shouldn't be, it was always a woman from the liege's own court.
My suspicion is that, because using Arrange Marriage with a member of your own court skips the evaluation of the chances of acceptance - courtiers will always auto-accept any match arranged by their liege, and doesn't even display the modifiers - it skips checking those modifiers entirely.
So you can change the scripted marriage modifiers as much as you like - that will always keep on happening. The only way to change it is to make certain matches appear as invalid at the decision level.
Some rulers ago I had a very hard time, but an invitation to an improptu picknique by his caravan master and lover really helped him to not break down. He then decided to pursue her at least romantically and they eventually became soulmates.
