Since comments don't allow more than 1000 characters i will put here my thoughts.

You are severely underselling what you've made. At first i thought from the description and presentation on the workshop page that this was gonna be either a short cinematic flick or a troll map. Turns out this is a rehash of the main game and surprisingly, some things are done better than by the original devs:

- Map layout is way better than original since you have a lot of loops, multiple connections between areas and open spaces where you can juke the monster. This is THE thing that was missing in the main game. I can count on one hand how many times i had to hide instead of being on the move, which this map layout encourages. Bravo.

- No loading areas, which makes it feel like the monster has to actually look for you and you have moments where he's on your rear and moments where you get to breathe. Also this allows you to sacrifice exploring the rest of an area and go somewhere else where it's safer.

- No actual safe room keeps you on your toes the entire game.

- Map looks nice, not as many details as original game but still well done.

- Story wise it's basically default story but much simpler with a bit more Amnesia lore. It's alright.


I do have some criticism:

- Some areas like mission storage, munitions and and the tunnel near it that leads to nowhere feel useless. The 2 last mentioned areas can get you killed because there isn't anywhere to hide or juke out the monster (in comms which is a dead end, you have a closet to hide in).
Mission storage could have used the same mechanic as main game with the dog tags and codes.

- There aren't that many puzzles, this is mostly about exploration and being smart with your resources. Since that part of the experience is done properly, lack of puzzles isn't that big of a deal. I did like the bit where you had to crawl through the small window by dragging a prop near it, i just wish there was more.

- One item placement took me a little longer to figure out, the place where you find the bolt cutters shouldn't have the shadow effect. Maybe i didn't see right but even with the lights on when i shone my light into the small tunnel it couldn't see into it. This isn't that major but it took me a little while to find out that you can crawl in there.

Also it would probably be better that those cutters are guarded by something else so that one doesn't beat the map instantly by accidentally going to the prison and finding the cutters.


Overall, the good outweighs by a large margin the small complaints i have. This is an outstanding map that puts the level design of the main game to shame. This was truly "The Bunk" experience.

Nicely written. I also cheated a bit by going to this comment to see how I could progress. It took me forever to realise how I need to get into the arsenal. Finding the bolt cutters took some time as well.
