There is not much to set up. You need to place a vending machine, it acts like a shelf, so you set the storage options and a storage priority and pawns will haul stuff to it.
Then hospitality guests who have enough money and are interested in the items (for ex food is interesting for guests who did not bring food and are hungry) will walk up to the vending machine, pay and get an item in return...

I guess the issue was that it wasnt working regardless. I rarely had them buy anything. Someone mentioned that you cant have them in the place that you already set the shopping zone. So its either you have to make a secondary zone for it or have it outside the shopping zone. If it was placed inside the shopping zone it wouldnt work. It was very weird. I think i remember posting a comment on the mod itself too.

Set no zone for shopping and it works. Guest won't buy anything though.
