Let's discuss some RTS mechanics
Do you have idea how to make builder unit with automatons? I think it will be somewhat similar with SCV - flying welding machine that will layer by layer build blueprint from projector

If you wanted to integrate some form of Infantry, you could try to figure out how to interface the mod with AiEnabled. They have a bot spawner that can spawn walking bots with guns. I think a good RTS needs at least some infantry

select timer blocks from the grid and show them as commands by block name, so a timer block for say "lock down" that unfolds the unit into a ground emplacement
actually just taht in general for the hotbar when piloting would be great

This is pretty nice decision. Like Terran buildings that can fly, or some mobile buildings in Red Alert 3, thank you

I tested it and yes they are, sadly AiEnabled limits you to only 2 bots. I dunno how to get past that, but it is an infantry mechanic which is very epic.

Be admin -> Hit alt-f10 -> look on left side of screen for mod settings -> click that and the option to increase bot amounts is in there

It would be great if when you select a unit you can access a toolbar for that unit where you can activate things from that grid, or at least you could have the option to activate something (like a timer) to give the units some abilities.
Or if you can't, at least you can activate the "T" from a cabin where there is a toolbar and that it doesn't hide from you when you activate it, that way maybe with some script that connects both grids you can send orders of special abilities.

Would it be possible to make drones able to walk over surfaces made of grid? Right now you can only mark the "direction order" in voxels, if you try to mark it on a surface of a static grid the drone goes crazy.
