Crashing Issues during World Generation? Post here!
So some people seem to be having crashing issues, and some arnt having any issues with it.. during my testing and constantly generating of worlds I never crashed once.. and since some are having this issue without other mods that could be conflicting... do you mind telling me what type of world you are generating? Normal? Detailed? Small? Large? And at what point does it crash during world gen? Currently the main world I use are Mediums. I'll try to do some experiments with this.

Edit: If you are struggling on Large worlds beyond Year 100. Try this.. (it worked/works for me).

When you press the button to create the world, DO NOT click on the game anywhere till it is finished generating OR when you want to stop it. I remember this being a bug to where if you click it, it causes the game to not respond anymore after a few more years.

Crashing when clicking on anything the mod adds after playing ~20yrs, it started after i crafter a "large zinc pot" and click'd on it in a stockpile. Now i cant click on anything the mod adds, it will result on a crash.

That is a Vanilla bug...

I believe I did a Large World with 250 years and couldn't get past year 100-something.

As I said, other than UI edits and a mod to fill out missing vanilla graphics (Deon's Vanilla Plants, IIRC), I've got Audible Alerts and nothing else.

had multiple worldgen freezes when trying to use the mod on "large region", never gets past 150 years. tried with/without mods i thought would interact weirdly ("trainable animals expanded" and "More Arms and Armor graphics", they both require disabling some base versions of stuff) and still had the issue. swapped to medium region and i've managed to generate a world finally.

*edit: saved it and went to start from the main menu and the only available races were humans....elves, kobolds, gremlins, and goblins were all on the map but none were playable and none of the races from the mod were present in the world. unsure if this is because i saved before trying to embark or not, i wasnt watching the worldgen log as i waited so i could not see if there were any mod races durring gen

TAE already expands the animals being trainable, and yeah once a world is saved/loaded, you cant change the majority of the non-graphic raws. Alsoif your constantly crashing beyond 150, then theres something you have changed or added thats causing an issue beyond my mod. Ive done way to many world generations due to other people bringing up this issue and I have yet to crash, even on larges.

However do keep in mind, specially with Large worlds, I do crash beyond 300, but my computer is about 5 years old, older computers may struggle with doing large worlds beyond 100.

I'm also having crashing issues, happening sometime after 100 years, pretty regularly. Right about year 105 usually. I just set my worlds to stop at 100 and so far haven't had any other issues.

Also having mine freeze up. Almost exactly on the 150 year mark every time. Only this mod causes it, as it's the only one I have ever used. World gen changes, Civs are at 60. Sites at 1750. Max pop 20k. Large region.

I can hit 1000+ years on vanilla with same settings. I'd ideally like to have a world at 300 on the mark but it's been so far impossible.

As mentioned in the post, try not pressing the game while its generating, but keep in mind with bigger/major mods that allow all civs to be played, there is a higher chance of CTD due to vanilla DF limitations with the Position system having buggy issues from non-Fortress Civs.

I'm only using squad and burrows icons mod and detailed landscapes aside from your mod. if I jack it up to 1800-2500 it will almost always freeze on world gen between years 1xx-2xx. I have tried this on a custom built world gen settings and also the normal large region settings with years to pass set to 1420.

If you are wanting to go over 1k years, you will need to use an advanced world gen world, I dont remember if I posted it on this steam workshop, but its in my discord server for the mod. Aeramore, and other major mods tend to have issues in the regular world gen, mainly on large worlds.

Not found: data/installed_mods/the_aeramore_expansion (740)/graphics\images/tae_ammo.

this error applies after siege update during Loading data. :(
