a flame thrower would be cool

in general I do like the idea of a flame thrower.
But to be clear:
I am assuming low range, high fire chance/structure damage/low shield damage probably and maybe a good amount of spread to have it a bit more ballanced. Or did you have anything else in mind?

Otherwise I am not sure which part you mean with emp from vanilla?
The disruptors?
Another idea from me would be to take the mining lasers as model for some kind of heat beam idk :D.

and i think i mean the distributer
i would not give it a lot of spread but of course it shout be close range its a flaem thrower after all i thin´k i t woulde cool if the fame thrower actuuly sets the enemy ship on fire

okay.
First of all don't worry about the spread too much. I mean for close range weapons it is less a problem anyway. Also it won't be too much ;). But I think it is also kinda "Op" to have it with no spread so you can just ram the enemy and burn to his vital parts in a few secs I guess or something like that.
Also I would try for a flame thrower to have a high fire rate so it kinda looks like a real flame thrower with all the projectiles stacking and spreading out a bit.
Fire chances are no problem, just added the first heat weapon yesterday I think you might check that out, too ;)

In addition it could use a new resource "fuel" which will be most likely added anyway.
But I will figure it out when fuel is also in for now I think it will come without any fuel functionality and just energy usage.

I just have added the flame thrower so you can test it and have a look.
But note that I haven't changed the models yet. So it is functionally complete but do look like the normal disruptor as part and I will also change the shot color both in a future patch.

I think it is relatively okay ballanced rn but idk what do you guys think?
More Fire chance but less damage ? -> Have not taken this road due its high fire rate you could just spray over the whole ship hit a few shots at each location during that and it is allready completely under fire.
Or other thoughts?

Hey, yeah I was also allready thinking of that.
Just figuring out how to complete this one.
For me rn there are two options how to get it done will try these out and will see which one works best then and let you know ;)
