Resources taken for study aren't consumed, they're examined and put back in storage.

but I've seen them literally disappear after being taken to the bench
sometimes it happens sometimes it doesnt
bug/mod conflict?

resoucres are surely being put back to storage, next time take a closer look, if they are consumed report a bug

Bit late but, most likely haulers are putting them away when your research stops for lunch. I've seen lifters do this often :D
