"Random Dog" after a fail to load saved game.
I want to say that that I figured out the problem and that's not what I'm asking about. What I am asking about is the random dog. Did the author put that there in case of an error?

"Random dog?"

I'm assuming that you're seeing an empty city screen (probably blue, could also be yellow/black if using the day-night cycle) with some random citizen models in the middle (yes, dogs are 'citizens' as far as the game is concerned)?

If so, that's not intentional or anything - that's how the game normally looks when the simulation thread has failed.
