There is a safeguard that should partially prevent this - Bael has a strong hook over his supporters, and I thought that would be enough to keep them from turning against him. If this safeguard is not effective, I will consider other options.
However, I have no problem with Mammon wanting Abraxos dead, or vice versa. After all, they are demons who treat anyone of similar strength as a potential rival and threat. Today's ally may be tomorrow's enemy, so it's better to kill/neutralise them today.
Turning demons against each other could be an interesting way to resolve this crisis.
