I was 20 turns into a Craver game playing on Normal difficulty 5 other civs on a medium 2 spiral galaxy (I didn't use the balance generation). I tried to attack a fleet which was orbiting a minor faction however, I had two targets I could pick because the pirates were also attacking this same minor faction so I chose the pirates and then it bugged out and I never was able to initiate combat or move my fleet because it said "Combat was In Progress). When I tried to reload the game at an earlier save all of my save files were corrupt and it would kick me out of the game.

I'm not running any mods besides ESG 1.6 and the latest version of the game...
