i think a safe zone will be good

What do you really mean by a safe zone? Can you explain as there are already spots that are much better defensible and protected. You can see them with the house sprayed icon on walls like in Left 4 Dead 2.

how about barbed wire damaging you if you touch it?
might make it a bit more realistic and make the player pay attension to theire surroundings more

Really good idea, we already did it in other levels, mostly ones for Day of Defeat Source, but we'll try to add it for this one too
