I'll reword the workshop description to make this more clear. Thanks for bringing it up!
Are you playing with caves? If it's forcing you to disconnect, there's may be a crash registered in the server_logs somewhere.
However, you shouldn't be able to have two knives at the same time... What happened right before the rattling occurred? Did you die and revive? Load a save? Enter/leave caves? Those are possible moments where the knife glitch can happen, but there are supposed to be checks to prevent them.
My friend is using also a modded character but appart from that we are not using any other mods. I don't know if this happens with base game characters too because we just found out about this yesterday and haven't been able to test it further.
We also are not using any other mods apart from these two characters
Hmmmmmm, I can't reproduce this bug on my end, but I'm also just spawning characters ingame, not testing with an actual player.
Can you provide your logs so I can take a look?
She was using a mod of a character named Sona from league of Legends, who uses a bumerang in DST.
The crash happens whenever you use Trail of Torment on a mob that had been targeted by the bumerang previously and vice-versa if the bumerang targets a mob previously targeted by Trail of Torment.
I don't know how to access the crashing log since the game itself isn't crashing, its jsut the server that disconnects and send us back to the menu. In any case, the incompatibility has been identified.
It will be one of these two- if you were on the surface, it'll be in \Master\, and if you were in caves, it'll be in \Caves\.
If you've reopened the server since the disconnect, the log will have been overwritten and no longer contain the error. If that's the case, I'd appreciate it if you could reproduce the disconnect and paste the log here. Thanks!
