Would be nice if it was a melee class, rather than the rifle class like the usual xeno hunter, but that would probably take making new talents

I have most of the code and design for a melee Xeno Hunter finished.

Skills: Blades, Tactics, Intimidate
The concept is an armor-based reactive melee combatant.
I have about half of the talents finished, but I need to round out the combat talents. I also need a fun level 15 talent. I've been been unmotivated to make any progress on it.

Idk about a level 15, but it would be solid if there was a melee talent like bracing fire from shocktrooper. Blade users are too easy to relocate... Also for motivation, im gonna dump my long ass game and start a new game just for this class.

Also, I got an idea! What would you think of working with the 'playable xeno ship' mod creator to have the level 15 talent let you capture xeno ships (only) like those ship capture talents for some other classes?

Unfortunately capture mechanisms are hard coded and not available to be modded.

Each of the capture talents has hard-coded targets and effects. You can't modify any of that.

That means its impossible to make a new capture talent too?

Effectively yes. You can either reuse one of the existing ones or petition the devs to add a new one. Capturing Xeno isn't really in sync with the game lore, so most likely it isn't viable.
