I think there might have been an issue so I'll elaborate a little.
Try doing Case 1 if it does not work, try Case 2
Case 1
It's unlocked with a Strange Key which looks like a regular wand, if you perhaps sold it or lost it it should be in the inventory of General Merchant at the camp. (Maybe he just sells them as I could buy an unlimited ammount from him)
Case 2
If you're anything like me you probably cleared all the monoliths before talking with Wilkens at the camp if so, then you probably have some dialogue queued with him. So be SURE to talk to him until he says that you can unlock the door with strange looking key (wand).
If you have a Strange Key in your inventory (looks like a regular wand) then you are good to go!
