having the same problem

i was able to fix this by going into the save storage
E.G.

C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves\76561197983236584\Star System 2025-08-01 15-08\Storage\2596208372.sbm_AiEnabled

then edit the AiEnabled.cfg

to get to the appdate type run into the windows search bar then when open type %appdata%

For this "issue" simply press Alt F10 to bring up the admin panel, and then click mod settings in the top left, and click on Ai Enabled, and then finally click the max bots per player and put it to whatever you want it to be. Hope this helped you.
