Go to your settings, controls, and then mod controls (usually at the bottom of the list). Find Ore Excavator, and bind (at least) the excavation key to start using the mod.

From there, hold the key while mining/swapping/painting/hammering/placing to perform the different actions depending on your configurations like whitelists.
