Mod Self-Update
Posting this again as a discussion because I see so many people asking for an update

This is a temporary workaround for an unupdated mod (all credit to user Chervenko in the Unlimited Units comment section, I just edited instructions to work for this mod specifically)
1.) Enter your game

2.) Look at your bottom left to find current version (main menu)
(Latest version is v.124626)

3.) Open your workshop folder
Example : xxxxx\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\919640\2557052659

919640 - Steel Division 2
2557052659 - Freedom Deck Mod ID

4.) Open Config.ini (save an extra untouched copy to desktop first incase something messes up)

5.) Replace Old Version (ModGenVersion = xxxxx) with current version from in-game main menu
Example: (Latest version - 124262) would be ModGenVersion = 124626

So if the game get updates. Just look the current version ( 2nd step) and edit in workshop config file (5th step)

6.) Activate mod in-game at mod centre

You may have to manually change if the mod does update in the future or reinstall all together but until then this should allow you to play. Hope This Helps.

Hey Spart, this method is no longer work on version 130290, what else could I do to fix the error message?

I'm not sure. It still functions for me. Sorry.

I could maybe try uploading my version of the modfiles somewhere so people could make a quick swap. However I have mine edited to include longer battle times and it may also swap out their decks for mine. Also no guarantee it would even work to begin with.

A bit late, but I just tried this today (1/21/25) and it works, you just have to make sure there's ONLY one config file in the folder, and it has to have the base config name. testing for multiplayer, but single seems to work alright. Will update after tests.

Edit: works for both single and multiplayer for me.

Ehi dude, i have the 144789 versione but still doesn't work, what you've done for you're version?

Just tried following the steps. Loaded in no problem and could access my old decks before the update. Then launched a solo game with no issues.

The procedure by updating the version number in the workshop folder has very well run during a few days. But It crashes systematically now, after a few minutes of game ....
What's a pity !!!!
